The last thing anyone wants to eat is a pancake, sandwich or waffle that is not well done; so when it comes to brunching in Lagos, I like to go for the best restaurants that offer it.
Here’s a list of some of the restaurants that have consistently brought their game when it comes to brunch meals.
Cafetaria
Located at Victoria Island, this is a well-loved spot serving American brunch.
Their waffles and soul food options taste good and the restaurant is very busy on Sundays. I recommend booking ahead if you want to visit in a group.
The space is simple, well lit and has contemporary aesthetics. My visit here was very memorable because the service was top notch and when I gave feedback on a meal I had, it got attended to asap.
The budget here is N10,000 to N15,000 depending on what you order and this covers a main and a drink.
Oeuvre patisserie
I like to think of this restaurant as the king of the mainland when it comes to breakfast options;
Their burger bread is perfection in itself, cake slices are moist and tasty, coffee options hit the right spot and service is decent! I honestly have no complaints about this restaurant.
The best part is that they are located at Ogudu Mall so my mainlanders don’t have to cross the third mainland bridge just to have a good breakfast/brunch.
The budget here is N5,000 per head.
LaChaumiere
At this point, I think I deserve a loyalty card from this restaurant because I’ve been here at least 10 times in the last year. Their American and English breakfast meals make me come back because it’s a great deal and the taste is consistent.
Located at Tiamiyu Savage, VI, Lagos. LaChaumiere is a Lebanese family restaurant serving brunch items, they have a play area for children and do not sell alcohol.
Breakfast options are really good here and are all-inclusive, which means their American and English breakfast options come with tea/coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.
With N10,000 – N12,000, you can have a solid brunch here.
Moonshine Cafe
Known to be the yoga spot at Lekki phase 1, Moonshine is a coffee shop/cafe.
Their meals taste fine and their coffee is really good.
The ambience gives a rustic vibe with homage to the music and they have weekly karaoke.
I tried out the American breakfast, English breakfast, sardine bread and milkshake during my visit and I recommend the American breakfast with their coffee options.
If you stay around Lekki and want to have brunch out then be sure to check these guys out.
A good budget here is N10,000 – N15,000 based on your meal choice.
Flowershop Cafe
Another restaurant gem in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Their french toast happens to be the best I’ve had in Lagos and their breakfast quesadilla is a yummy healthy meal.
As the name implies it’s a flower shop so expect a very florid space and you can buy flowers here. I recommend making a reservation before visiting as it is very busy on Sundays because of Sunday brunch.
It’s a nice place to have a meeting, brunch with your friends or even work from.
A budget here should be N15,000 and above based on your meal options.
Slow Lagos
Slow is one of the most exclusive restaurants in Lagos and is located at VI, Lagos.
It’s tropical-themed and its menu is heavily influenced by Latin American cuisine, the space is florid with natural plants.
Reservation here is highly recommended and their breakfast/brunch menu starts at 8 am.
I like the varieties of their brunch items and I enjoyed my meals here particularly the Salmon egg avocado tacos and blueberry waffles.
A good budget for brunch and breakfast should be N20,000 – N25,000.
Have you been to any of these restaurants? How did your experience go?
